B M Birla Science Museum

A visit to the B.M. Birla Science and Technology Center is something one must not forget to indulge in when traveling to Jaipur in Rajasthan. One of the most important landmarks in the pink city, the B.M. Birla Science and Technology Center is housed near Statue Circle.

B.M. Birla Science and Technology Center is a sprawling 9.8 acre complex which includes an interactive science museum, library, a computer centre, an information processing and dissemination cell, as many as eight research divisions, a processing planetarium and an auditorium.

The Planetarium imparts audio-visual education with its modern projection equipment to young and old who have an interest in the workings of the celestial bodies. The way it acquaints visitors with the cosmos and its secrets is indeed amazing. No wonder, it is always flocked by enthusiastic visitors all around the year.

Audio Visual presentations are held everyday at the Birla Planetarium in Jaipur Rajasthan. The planetarium helps to enhance knowledge of planets and cosmic functions and movements and on special occasions like on a special day when some rare phenomenon related to stars and planets are about to occur.

The place allows concessions to schools. Drop in at the planetarium between 1200 hrs to 1900 hrs and see for yourself how the universe conducts itself. The planetarium remains closed on last Wednesday of every month.

The aesthetically designed B.M. Auditorium is a classic mixture of old and contemporary Indian architecture with the fresco highlighting traditional Rajasthani art. The auditorium has a seating capacity of 1350 people and is one of the largest auditoriums in India, built to international conference standards. Thus it provides a perfect ambience for holding national and international scientific, industrial and cultural meets. Jaipur has increasingly attracted multifarious events because of excellent facilities and efficient services available at the Auditorium.

Besides the main auditorium, there are several conference halls and seminar rooms, with a capacity of 40 to 400 persons, for parallel sessions and group discussions, or small meetings. There is large dining space and a cafeteria that caters excellent cuisine. Spacious parking area allows the visitors to park their vehicles comfortably.

So whenever you travel to Jaipur, do visit the B.M. Birla Science and Technology Center and increase your awareness about the universe.
